Soul Asylum's 'Runaway Train' just came on the radio.
Talk about a blast from the past! I literally have not heard this song for decades!
The other song I can recall stopping me in my tracks was Everything But The Girl's 'I Don't Want to Talk About it' in the middle of a Mamas and Papas store 😆

Anything that takes you back specifically to a time and place?

God that EBTG version was in the charts then I was suffering my first real heartbreak. It still gets me right in the feels.

it’s funny how a song can take you right back. Also funny that I can remember every lyric of a song I’ve not heard for 30 years but I can’t remember what I had for my tea last night!

I remember Steal My Sunshine by Len being the song of the summer when I was about 9/10, it always takes me back to days in my grandparents back garden eating those double stick ice lollies with the dog lying in my lap.
