Morning!

Arrived at the most divine Airbnb yesterday, my daughter has had an accident in the bed, she's 13 and totally embarrassed as it's not happened in years. No signs of a UTI but she's mentioned she had a nightmare. I've stripped the bed but the mattress protector hasn't caught it all, advice on what I should do?

Sorry it's an early one

Scrub the mattress with warm soapy water and prop it up to dry.

Tbh I would try and absorb as much of it with kitchen towel before trying to clean it, but let them know - they should be using a decent mattress protector.

One of my dogs peed on a carpet once in an Airbnb - I did my best to clean it up but the smell will come back. I let them know and offered to pay for a carpet cleaner to come and sort it but they said not to worry.

Are you in the UK? You could try and book someone to come and steam clean it (or however they clean mattresses professionally)

Bicarbonate of soda on the wee takes the smell away, leave for a few hours if possible.

Go to a pet store and buy Simple Solutions urine enzyme cleaner. It will break down the urine and get rid of the smell.
