Does Easyjet allow you to bring a handbag as well as the free small cabin bag?

Just wondering if I can board the flight with a small handbag with my make up, phone etc and also the small cabin bag that goes under the seat without extra charges or would they see the handbag as extra luggage? Their website says it is free for the small cabin bag , but it doesn't mention about handbags.

Nope - must all fit in your under seat bag. Sometimes staff don’t say anything, but very costly if they do and you can’t fit it in!

Following as I’m flying to Egypt with easyJet in a few days and I was going to take a handbag sized leather backpack and my carry on bag but I was expecting to have to put the handbag in the carry on

You're allowed a duty free carrier bag. Do with that what you will. But regardless of that, my very tiny passport and purse bag has never been questioned.

Ime they do.No ones ever questioned me with a handbag and carry on bag.

Nope. I had to put my handbag into my underseat bag and put my underseat bag into their box for checking it would fit.

I had to take my hairbrush out so that it would fit, went to throw it in my duty free bag and the attendant got arsy with me, saying I couldn't put anything in there. Fortunately my friend had room in her underseat bag.

I wore an extra cardigan on the flight back, and they barely glanced at the bag.

No. I’ve had to put my handbag inside my backpack as it’s only one item allowed unless you pay for priority

Kitkat1523 · 09/08/2024 23:37

Made me put my bumbag in my backpack

Ellmau · 09/08/2024 23:38

No, unless it's tiny and you can hide it under your coat.

camelfinger · 09/08/2024 23:42

It’s one bag only. You might get away with it, but there’s a risk they’ll get you to squish it in your bigger bag. That’s what I usually do, and take it out once I’m on the plane.

The small cabin bag is really only a small backpack/very small holdall/large handbag now. You might be lucky and they might not check but unless you can get your second bag into the first bag, I wouldn't risk it. Definitely, definitely don't turn up with a wheelie bag and backpack if you haven't paid- at least, where I travel to and from, they do frequently check. Rightly so in my opinion tbh, I'm a frequent flyer and always have either a tiny bag, or pay for the 2 bags and it did used to frustrate me, the massive great bags that used to go on unchecked when I had paid!

I think it's a matter of luck, so not worth the risk. I took a small bag, and it was small, which had passports, phone and glasses. But it could have fitted in my cabin bag - I wouldn't have risked it otherwise.

Just wear a coat and fill the pockets with things

LSTMS30555 · 10/08/2024 00:34

I've never had a problem with any airline taking my carryon & my handbag

TooBigForMyBoots · 10/08/2024 00:41

No. You might get away with it out of season or on not so busy flights, but they were really strict when I travelled with them last month.
