Best streaming service for portable music for my iphone?

I am currently using spotify, but also have youtube premium. Someone told me that I was a fool to pay for both, so now I am wondering.

Which do you recommend? Do you prefer Apple or Spotify?
I do need to access folders and love to make my own lists, I will also need it to not run my battery down when out and about. Surely youtube would do that as it contains video?

You’re not a fool to pay - the person saying that you are is the fool! For convenience I’d stick to Spotify or Apple Music, really it’s just personal preference and there’s no massive difference between either of them. Spotify is better if you want pre-made playlists or music suggestions so if you like making your own I’d probably go with Apple. Regular YouTube will not be able to play offline or if you switch off your screen, plus there are many ads. It will not function in the same way as a proper music streaming service. You could always try the free version of Spotify but again there would be ads.

I prefer Spotify, but we have Apple Music on Family Sharing, that adult son pays for, so I use that. We also have Youtube Premium, but I don't use it for audio.
