Retraining after 50 years young

Hello! I'm 53 years young and in the challenging process of jobsearching after a 3 year career break. My background is general admin support. I'm thinking about retraining but feeling a bit discouraged as am not sure what to do. So, was wondering if any inspirational stories around or anyone experiencing the same?

FWIW at a similar age to you I studied for an MA in a niche subject at a specialist institution. Achieved a Distinction and opened up - if not a whole new career, at least a new world of opportunities and experiences.

Completely different to the professional qualifications I’d studied for three decades ago.
