Is the owlet baby monitoring sock still the best option?

I know it’s marmite, but it’s not something that is not negotiable for many reasons. Is the owlet sock still the best option or is there something better now?

Yep I think it's still the best option.

We got nanit which does breathing monitoring. My husband did a ton of research on this and owlet apparently false alarms a bit. Have been using nanit just as a camera for about three months first (baby was in SNOO so couldn’t do breathing monitoring) and another two months with breathing monitoring and it’s been great. No false alarms and really reassures me.

I use an owlet and love it. Only 2-3 false alarms in 2 years

Thewildthingsarewithme · 10/08/2024 08:13

Have and love the Owlet

Thanks @ffssssssssssss see I don’t see any false alarms as a bad thing. Did you or @Thewildthingsarewithme get the camera combo with it or just the sock on its own?

Ive also had a couple of false alarms, both when my LO had managed to dislodge the sock in his sleep, obviously not ideal but kind of reassuring that it works. I only have the sock becaue I still had the camera monitor from when my first was a baby

I use Owlet on my 4 year old, I used it the night we did a home sleep study so he was linked up to a hospital monitor too and both readings were within very close margins so I have been happy with it. I only wish I could change the parameters on the Owlet.

Thanks, do you think a camera as well is useful in they’re going to be in the same room as us anyway? Does it give more information?

That’s really good to know thanks @Ratfinkstinkypink do you have the camera as well or just the sock?

Just the sock but I already had a different camera that wasn't picking up his seizures until he cried, and his cry comes at the end of the seizure not the start so it wasn't any reassurance at all.

Loved our owlet my daughter suffered with breathing issues from newborn (bronchiolitis and pneumonia repeatedly) it was bang on with oxygen and heart rate levels. Wish we could change the parameters but I wouldn't have been without it. We had the sock and camera
