I have learning difficulties and it's embarrassing bit I can't figure out when I need to take these and when I can eat.

Can someone set out times for me please. I don't have anyone to ask

And it's confusing me

What times do I need to take this medication please and when to eat?

Take one tablet one hour before breakfast

One an hour before lunch

One an hour before evening meal

One before you go to bed.

SushiSheep · 08/08/2024 10:13

Have you had breakfast yet @Tabbiesta ?
If not, take one now.

Then as @2dogsandabudgie outlined above -

One an hour before lunch

One an hour before evening meal

One before you go to bed.

Hope you feel better soon.

It's difficult to say times without knowing what times your meals are.

These are a bugger to remember to take, I set an alarm.

As soon as you wake up take a tablet then have breakfast an hour later

Set your alarm for an hour before your lunchtime, take one then

Set an alarm for an hour before dinner, take one then

Set an alarm to take one at bed time

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon

I had to take these due to cellulitis because of a bite. I did my best but sometimes I just had to take them whether I’d eaten or not to get the dose in. I’m still alive.

Midnight, 6am, 12pm, 6pm. Eat an hour after each tablet (apart from the midnight one!

Or

11pm, 7am, 1pm, 7pm. Every 6 hours.

Ah OK. I see now.

Doh. So just 4 times and hour before I eat.

I tool one when I woke up at 8am but I don't really have breakfast. So dont usually eat till lunchtime.

Is that OK?

Thankyou for not being mean about it. It genuinely confused me.

That will be fine. I think they confuse things by saying one hour before or two hours after.

Don't be embarrassed in the least. I got in such a mess trying to work out the timings of some medication I had recently. I don't think it helps that it feels so important to get it right. All that pressure stops my brain processing the information it would normally be totally fine with.

RagzRebooted · 08/08/2024 11:27

Also please be aware these instructions are for the medicine to work BEST. If you forget, and end up taking one or two doses closer to a meal, that's okay. It will still work. Don't skip meals or medication doses in an effort to do it perfectly or not at all.

Crunchymum · 08/08/2024 11:32

Glad you feel more comfortable with taking your meds now @Tabbiesta

These tablets are a pain to work out timings for, even without any learning difficulties / neuro diversity.
