Evening. I'm hoping someone can help or advise me. I am under investigation with a rheumatologist but it is all taking so long.
In April my fingers sudden swelled up like sausages. Painful joints, especially in he morning. Nails had hemorrhaging, dips and grooves and they are also peeling off which is painful. I've had a couple fall off, including toe nails. I'm waiting for a nailfold capillaroscopy. I also have days where I'm totally floored by exhaustion. Its bloody awful. I'll attach a few photos.
Does this look like anything or am I just weird?! Thank you.

Have you tried an anti inflammatory diet to try and lessen the symptoms and see if it then it calms down (and hopefully goes away?) It's obviously some sort of reaction or possible condition , hopefully others more knowledgeable may be able to help.

Has your rheumatologist told you what they think it is likely to be?

Nailfold capilloscopy can help diagnose a number of different autoimmune conditions all of which have quite different treatments. But it does imply your rheumaotologist has already narrowed your potential diagnosis down and has something in mind.

My fingers look exactly like yours when the weather is cold. It started suddenly about 5 years ago in one finger, and I now get it in all of the fingers on my right hand from around October to April (June this year because it was still cold!).

I had all the tests for RA, Xrays, ultrasounds, blood tests - all came back negative. I never got a diagnosis so I basically just live with it now and try and keep my hands warm at all times. I also have Raynaud's syndrome, so I assume it's some weird overreaction to the cold. I get lumps and bumps on my nails but not quite like yours. Hope you get a diagnosis.

@AnnaMagnani he thought lupus. Blood came back negative but I have other symptoms which fit it so need more blood done. I also tested positive for lupus anticoagulant

Rheumatology is so complicated @Quacking4it I'm sorry you are in such a rotten situation.

Have you any idea how long you have to wait for your test?
