Me too! Great cast although much as I love David Tennant I think he’s not beefy enough for Tony B. I can’t find a date yet though.

DuskandDawn · 07/08/2024 14:05

Omg!!!!! Can't wait!!!!

omega4ever · 07/08/2024 14:09

Me too... excited!
When's it starting?

There's no date yet, just some time in 2024.
I'm not sure about the casting either, Taggie is meant to have clouds of dark hair, and they've cast a blonde. Yep I always imagined Bullingham/Baddingham to be a larger man, a bit like Robert Maxwell.

This is one I'd love to watch. I loved these books as a teenager, albeit when I've reread them later they don't wear particularly well as far as animal abuse or VAWG are concerned. Maybe the timing is opportune, given a reminder of this has unfortunately occurred in the form of this year's Olympics.

The dramatic end of Riders was really enjoyable but a completely shameless rip-off of International Velvet. The harrowing scene of a horse being euthanised, plus RCB bravely completing the final round of the showjumping and winning team gold despite a dislocated shoulder - just as Sarah Brown does in the eventing in the movie, are practically identical.

I think Cooper even has Perdita mention International Velvet in Polo. In any event it's very clear Cooper has watched it.

Taggie is a bit wet: I preferred the ballsier Cameron! Plus the more intellectual, cerebral Declan is far sexier than RCB (even if he is rather clumsily modelled on Terry Wogan ...) 😱

I never imagined him as Terry Wogan lol, but I can see it now.
I always imagined Richard Madeley as James Vereker, and Billy from Bread as Billy.

I hadn't considered that about James Vereker. He's Madeley to a tee!

I've just seen the pictures for this. I'll give it a go, although they're not all how I'd picture them.

Hoping for some gorgeous countryside and houses.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 28/08/2024 18:20

Streaming from 18th October.

Tooty78 · 28/08/2024 18:24

Not sure if the casting of RCB, I always imagined him as a young Julian Sands (RiP).
But yes to Aidan Turner as Declan.😍

I’ve been so excited about this but just tried to reactivate my Disney+ subscription and it won’t work! Suspect tv is a bit geriatric. It’s “smart” but not top of the range. Any tips? Can you download the app on a laptop I wonder…

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 18/10/2024 08:41

It's probably easiest to have it on your phone and then cast it to your telly.
