Morning anxiety - help

Stopsnowing · 07/08/2024 04:00

I think that is what it is…

for more than ten years I wake in the early hours of the morning with an adrenaline rush, fists clenched, teeth grindin, stomach churning heat pounding.

I then can’t get back to sleep until just before it is time to get up.

I get to sleep fine but am only getting about five hours a night

from what I can see it might be high cortisol or IBS.

the anxiety disappears by mid morning

hrt used to help but no longer.

magnesium hasn’t made a difference. Meditation apps help get me back to sleep biut take time so I am still really tired every day

anyone else? Help!

You don't say how old you are.
I was like this in menopause.

Hrt helped alot.

Do you drink alcohol? This happens to me if I have wine and it’s a physiological reaction to the chemicals your body produces to process alcohol. Around 2am they wake me up and I can literally feel the anxiety coursing through my veins.

I would also try quitting caffeine and see if that helps improve.

Buy the supplement Taurine and take two when you wake up in the night, that’s very calming.

I don’t drink. Hrt helped but now makes no difference. I will try Taurine.

Look up frozen peas for vagus nerve online. It does seem to work.
