Not confirming arrangements

My friend and I had made plans to have coffee together this morning. I don't know her particularly well. The last message I sent said that Tuesday morning was fine and where did she want to meet. Heard nothing back at all, assumed she wasn't free after all and booked my LO into crèche. Just got a message saying pop in when I'm ready.

Was I wrong in making an assumption? Or should she have confirmed if she expected to meet?

Maybe she thought it was confirmed? I tend to assume arrangements are confirmed when made, unless actively cancelled.

It wasn't confirmed. oP asked where they should meet and got no response.

I'd consider that time confirmed but location not. If I got no response when checking location I'd wonder myself, so I don't think OP was wrong to make other plans.

You are right it's not acceptable

11.10 on Tuesday is a bit late to arrange a date for Tuesday Morning

If a plan's made, it's made till it's cancelled. It would be very rude to make a plan then just not reply and let the other person infer that it was cancelled. So I'd assume the other person was decent, and let them see my polite shock if they weren't!

She should have replied.
