Brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation) or tumour

My DP has been admitted to hospital after a variety of symptoms, CT scan without contrast shows a mass on the brain. White blood cell count elevated, other bloods normal.
We have been advised that the neurooncology team are engaged and a contrast CT and MRI will be happening this morning.

Does anyone have any experience of either? Any questions I should be asking?

I think you can only sit tight and await the scan results, after which everything will be much clearer.
