I'm wearing a 20 year old skirt, I love it but it's a bugger to iron so I don't wear it much. I'm just pleased it still fits!

I'm wearing a T-shirt that's from 2012. I can remember buying it. I didn't really like it then 🤣 but I needed something to wear to work. It's got a V Neck which somehow makes me feel more office appropriate on conference calls. It probably comes out once every two weeks.

It's from fast fashion giant Primark. 🤣

Now I can't decide whether to be proud of my eco credentials or sad that I've been wearing a T-shirt I don't like for twelve years.

Currently in my 19-year-old dressing gown. Average age of things I wear I reckon to be at least 5 years old. I hate it when clothing reaches a point I finally have to make a decision to part with it. I like good value for money!

Not clothing but up until recently I used my school swimming towel from over 40 years ago for a kitchen towel.

Onedaynotyet · 06/08/2024 10:16

Dressing gown I bought to take into hospital when dd was born. She's 26.

PeachPairPlum · 06/08/2024 10:19

Cargo shorts that are about 8 years old from fat face. Worn them a lot and they are threatening to fall to bits but I love them and will not want to bin them off!

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 06/08/2024 10:19

I still wear a big t-shirt that I got for a sports thing when I was 10, so it's now 16 years old. It was huge on me then and still is now but I like it because it's comfortable. I wore it a lot throughout pregnancy too.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 06/08/2024 10:20

I'm wearing a playsuit that's about 3 years old, I do own clothes that are 15yrs + old though

Peakpeakpeak · 06/08/2024 10:20

Pyjama bottoms, 2012.

Riverswims · 06/08/2024 10:23

Healthcare crocs, I know they are 15 years 5mo old coz I bought them when I started here 🦷 I tried to replace them with imitations but they're not the same. still some tread left on the insteps

Shizzlestix · 06/08/2024 10:23

Socks. Everything else is new to me having lost drastic amounts of weight (deliberately) Everything bar my underwear is secondhand.

I had a suitcase full of clothes that no longer fit under the bed, stuff from 20 years ago. It all now fits so is back in the (very full) wardrobe since yesterday.

ItsMintUpNorth · 06/08/2024 10:27

I got my trousers in 2018 so 6 years old, I remember as it was on a trip to London just after I met my DP

DinosaurOfFire · 06/08/2024 10:28

I'm wearing a 10 year old strappy top from h and m. It's in really good condition and only cost £3.99 at the time!

RabbitsRock · 06/08/2024 10:30

My hiking sandals were from a house clearance which must be about 5 years ago & they looked quite well worn then. I live in them as they are so comfortable.

GameOfJones · 06/08/2024 10:37

I think everything I'm wearing today is pretty new. Bra, knickers, t shirt, leggings, socks and zip up hoodie all under 2 years old.

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 06/08/2024 10:39

@Ineedaholidayagain currently wearing a 26 year old nightie!!!! have three of those ones bought the same day and have been unable to find similar comfortable ones over the years!!

LifeInTheRaw · 06/08/2024 10:55

Most of what I have on now is about five years or less old.. but I'm also wearing a promotional heavy denim over shirt from when the new sporty Audi car was launched...
It's great for gardening, d.I.y., and despots age, it looks fine, ideal for a cold rainy day as todays turned out.
I do have a gorgeous outfit in my wardrobe that my friends from work at that time (early seventies) advise me to purchase..
I'm happy that I can still fit in it, despite a while ago gaining over two stones... I changed my diet & exercise, and yes !! I could wear the dress again
Like pp earlier, it's good to pack away clothes you've "grown out of", coz when eventually you get motivated to hit your weight and fitness goals, it's like having a new wardrobe, but one you know you'll feel at ease with...
Love that most pp s seem to be happy like me in their scruffs today...

LemonySnickets · 06/08/2024 10:55

A pair of gym shorts that are probably around 7 or 8 years old. I very rarely wear them and when I do it's only in the house for workouts. They're too short for me to wear in public!

AdoraBell · 06/08/2024 10:56

Underwear, about five ish years old.

FrogHoppingFreezer · 06/08/2024 11:11

24 year old pj bottoms.

Izzynohopanda · 06/08/2024 11:13

T-shirt - six years plus.

piscofrisco · 06/08/2024 11:23

I'm off sick so wearing my 'poorly jumper' which is a fleece bought from Maine at Debenhams for a school ski trip when I was 14. Im now 44. It's a bit thinner than when it was on the ski slopes of Andorra! And I am a bit fatter!

Parsipsnoup · 06/08/2024 11:25

I’m wearing my dad’s ring which he bought in 1963 or 64

edited to say I now realize you specified clothing - so probably my jumper which is 3 or 4 years old. Impressed by people fitting into clothes from decades ago!

Allmytroublesseemedsofaraway · 06/08/2024 11:26

Denim shorts-maybe 3/4 years old

grannycake · 06/08/2024 11:43

My birdies are at least 8 yrs old (only used as slippers now though. My T shirt is a similar age. Pants are probably 10 yrs old. Dungarees relatively new - bought on holidays 2 years ago

Eyesopenwideawake · 06/08/2024 11:46

Not wearing it today but I still use a Levi’s sweatshirt I bought when I was 17. I’m 61 at the end of this month 😱

Ariela · 06/08/2024 11:49

My oldest item is a 38 year old rugby shirt, I actually have 4 of them in different colours. Still fit.

Today I would think my newest item other than socks/pants/bra all of which are newer, is my jeans which are at least 4-5 years old (definitely pre-pandemic, as are my shoes). My shirt is an old favourite, at least 10 years old, but is very good quality and still looks great.
