As a previous poster has said though, his identity isn’t particularly much of a secret at this stage.

I think they do something like put up a tent or park a large vehicle over where they are spraying.

When I googled 'Banksy real name' the name Robin Gunningham came up, but it also stated that it's only a rumour and has never been confirmed. So it's not true that 'everyone knows who he is really' @MidnightPatrol

Remember "banksy" these days has a large team with quite a high tech workshop to produce the stencils and props.

I believe they place the pieces by dressing in hi Vis and construction kit.

If you saw some blokes in full hi Vis/hard hats, taking some stuff out of a white van, using ladders etc overnight would you think anything more than it a repair or maintenance work?

He doesn't go around with a t-shirt saying 'I am Banksy' as he creates art on a Saturday afternoon though. It's all done overnight as a planned installation, with a team to assist, generally.

There's is now a Banksy(museum). Whilst I applaud his work and his ability to stay anonymous, I have several friends who created many wonderful arts in London (where I'm from and live) on 80/90s. My friebds son was imprisoned for graffiti on southeastern trains. His artwork was beautiful.
Banksys work is really quite insignificant to other art.

If you are bringing up Banksy, I have a story to tell. A couple of years ago I came across a Banksy artwork and knew instantly that it was lifted from a press photograph of my sister and friend when they were toddlers 40 years ago. In the Banksy artwork he changed their posing, but it's definitely them. I wrote to his managed mailbox to say I knew how he'd done that piece. Never got a response.
