I know they sometimes have leaflets in magazines with a discount. Anyone know of anything currently?

Really?!

Yes, it's true that NTS membership is cheaper and both organisations have reciprocal arrangements. I work for NTS!

Yea - but you don't get free carparking in the English ones so it often negates the benefit

If buy via topcashback get 3.80 ish cash back

If buy as a 1 off annual DD get a £15 voucher for their cafe

I am surprised to hear you can’t use Scottish membership to park in England. We display the NTS car sticker and have never been challenged.

It clearly says you have to pay, as the reciprocal relationship only applies for entrance fees not car parks

LadyJaneGreyandhercat · 08/08/2024 19:04

I have had membership refunded in the past when I bought in England and found it wasn’t valid in Scotland. That was years ago though.

talking rubbish !

Poppy61 · 29/09/2025 22:03

NTS: you have to pay for NTE car parks. A car sticker does not entitle you to free parking. Scanning your NTE membership card gives you a ticket to display in your car. You cannot scan NTS card at NTE properties or car parks. Agree that not having free parking in England negates the cheaper NTS membership.

larkstar · 29/09/2025 22:11

I think the only thing you are excluded from (with the Scottish NT used in England) is the stand alone car parks - perhaps someone else will know for sure - maybe somewhere like Avebury might not be free. But I've used it at Sizergh Castle (just off the M6) where non NT members have to pay for parking and I was told I was fine with Scottish NT membership so long as I had my Scottish NT membership sticker showing on my windscreen (which I did). I regularly use my Scottish NT card as I travel around a lot on my campervan and the NT places allow me to break up long journeys (and walk the dog). Croome just off the M5 is another favourite stop off.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 29/09/2025 22:35

You absolutely can park for free in NT england/wales/NI car parks with a NT Scotland car sticker.

And I work for the NT. So, obviously, I didn't tell you that and cannot comment on the cheapness or otherwise of NTS membership.....
