London at the moment

Please don't come at me for asking this - I know that London is huge and generally very safe. But, we are visiting London this week, and I am mildly anxious about taking my children while the civil unrest is ongoing. Are there any places in London we should avoid? We want to do the museums and galleries mainly.

It seems bus8ness as usual there at the moment, so yes still go. Maybe avoid Westminster if you are concerned.

South Kensington (museum land) and the South bank (Tate, BFI, street theatre and so on) almost never get affected by anything that's going on.

I doubt London will see major trouble anyway, but if in doubt, avoid the strip that is made up of Westminster, Whitehall, and Trafalgar Square (so you're missing out on Parliament, horseguards, the Churchill war rooms and one gallery).

London is fine. We have a lot of Police! And so far there has been no trouble.

I agree (and lived in London for 30 years).

It's fine

London is so big that you will be able to avoid any trouble (not for a moment that I think there will be).

I went to London during the last round of rioting in 2011 (?). We had tickets for Buckingham Palace and weren’t going to let some silly people spoil it. Spent the morning in Oxford Street etc and the afternoon in BP. We had to come home a little early as a lot of the shops were shutting early. Other than that and the presence of Welsh police on the streets we wouldn’t have known.
