Tenby....?

3 adults and 6 kids under 10 visiting Tenby next week. Are there any must-do activities we might not have thought of? We're assuming lots of beach and ice cream.

Folly farm £££££ but great
Fecci's for fish and chips.
Colby woodland garden. Cheap or free if national trust.
Good climbing area with kids frames and swings above Tenby's South Beach. Free.
Liz's Bakery Narbeth. Best cakes and cheesecakes

Charliecatpaws · 05/08/2024 15:05

Manor House wildlife park
Tenby dinosaur park
Heather ton
Don't bother with Oakwood

Lookingforunicorns · 05/08/2024 15:14

Agree Oakwood is run down

mumonthehill · 05/08/2024 15:18

Wild lakes, a fab place. Great food and a small inflatable aqua park as well as a climbing wall and wake boarding.
Do not go to Oakwood!
saundersfoot, great beach and a fab place for fish and chips. Llys y fran for a walk and you can hire kayaks to go on the lake, paddle boards i think as well.

Barafundle beach is breathtaking

beguilingeyes · 05/08/2024 15:38

Pendine Sands is very close by. I'm wildly jealous. Tenby is lush.

LlynTegid · 05/08/2024 15:40

Laugharne not too far away? Never too young to be introduced to the works of Dylan Thomas.

AllThePotatoesAreSinging · 05/08/2024 16:36

Lobster rolls from the fish shack at the harbour

yulenot · 05/08/2024 17:31

Thank you!
Argh, I can't wait!

Such a nice town. Merchants House, boat to Caldey Island, Folly Farm are our favourites. And the beaches are fab. Have a lovely time!

Daffyyellow · 05/08/2024 17:44

Yes to all of the above also ice creams from Amroth.

ExplodingCarrots · 05/08/2024 17:48

I second wild lakes . We love it there. Another vote for folly farm too .
Stackpole woods, barafundle , bosherston Lilly ponds and broad haven south beach - you can walk them all in one loop if you like a good trek .

ExplodingCarrots · 05/08/2024 17:50

Boat trip to skomer island - you may catch some puffins but there won't be many there now.

RabbitsRock · 05/08/2024 17:53

Loved Tenby. I wish I knew the name of the cafe but I had the best scampi & chips I have ever eaten!

TigerOnTour · 05/08/2024 17:55

Dinosaur park has excellent activities for this age group.
Caldey Island also lovely.
