Tips for moving house in one morning.

I'd love some tips for moving house all in one morning. It's a mutual exchange, so it's all got to be done in one go, which I find really hard and stressful. I'm sure it's similar for buying and selling a home in a chain, so all experiences would be helpful.

It's mainly the stress of doing it all in one go which is doing my head in a bit. I'd much rather have a week or so to move a bit here and there, get all settled in and then bring furniture/white goods over, but alas, this is not the case. Should be moving in no less than 4/5 weeks from now. I've packed a few boxes of toys and ornaments. Two bed semi, got a trampoline to pack up also. Got a few removals quotes to look through soon. Single mum!

As soon as you can, declutter and sell / charity shop / tip as much as you can. Be brutal!

Then start packing gradually and get as much packed as you can by a few days before the move.

The night before the move, put as much in your car as you can that you need immediate access to when you move in the new house.

The morning of the move, only last minute things that can be out in your car. Clean each room as it is emptied.

Accept everyone’s offer of help. You can never get too packed in preparation. Use removals!! They are experts. Don’t pinch pennies getting a man in a van - the removals will have a team and have it done in no time.

Thanks both of you! I don't have a car but I will take all the other tips on board!

If you can afford it pay for removals to pack and move you. They will come and pack the whole house the day before. Then on moving day be there early and get it all done really quickly.
