Both of these people are quite unpleasant though, so not sure why collectively they’d make a “nice couple”.
It’s well known in the industry that she she got involved with a 9/11 first response - a married fireman and family man - for a scoop. I won’t share the full details here, but it’s possible to Google it and it’ll come up immediately. It’s horrible.
Frank (or Fwank’s) 9/11 disgrace is a bit more prosaic, not tragic like Christine’s, but still pretty shocking. And of course, John Terry was involved.
As a mark of respect, Chelsea’s UEFA Cup tie against Levski Sofia that was scheduled for that week was postponed and the squad were granted an unexpected day off.
Lampard and Terry, along with teammates Jody Morris and Eidur Gudjohnsen, and Leicester defender Frank Sinclair, headed out to celebrate.
After a boozy lunch the boys hit the road, stripping, swearing and vomiting their way through a string of suburban pubs.
According to one punter who had the misfortune to meet them that day, they hurled abuse at people and chucked projectiles at a pub landlord. One witness said that Gudjohnsen was hammered and shouted profanities, and Lampard, Morris and Sinclair urinated in a bin in the street.
This is the worst part. The party eventually found their way to Heathrow’s Holiday Inn where they bumped into a group of grieving American tourists, stranded at the airport when their flights were grounded.
According to reports, one of the players flashed his knob at a shocked crowd watching events on TV, and the boys were escorted out after harassing girls at the bar.
The manger of the bar (or the hotel, forget which one it was) said they were utterly disgusting and they just didn’t seem to care about what had happened in New York.
This bit is pretty funny though: the gang headed next door to the AirBowl bowling alley, and slid head first down the lanes. One member of staff recalled that Sinclair almost had his head chopped off by the mechanism.
Years later Lampard signed for MLS outfit New York City, so that was awkward when the American press dug the story up.
I hope the OP will forgive me for derailing the thread slightly (sorry!).
