At what age did a Happy Meal stop being enough for your child?

Sheknowsaboutme · 04/08/2024 21:30

When they started asking for 2!

but we dont have one locally so dont eat it really, only when we go to a town etc. No idea what age they were

Sendnudes · 04/08/2024 21:32

Dont let them be greedy or else many will want a big mac at 8

moleeye · 04/08/2024 21:46

My 9 year old has been ordering a Big Mac meal for well over a year.

My 5 year old still has a happy meal. Although I suspect he'll soon be ready to move onto an adult meal as well

westcountrywoman · 04/08/2024 21:51

We rarely have McDonalds but DD was still happy to have a Happy Meal until age 10 or thereabouts. DS was still hungry after one age 8.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 04/08/2024 21:52

9

Beginningless · 04/08/2024 21:55

My 8yr old is still hungry after one, but basically always has been! I’ve no plans to give her an adult meal there any time soon. We don’t eat them very often for this exact reason, it doesn’t satisfy anyone.

ItsVeryHyacinthBucket · 04/08/2024 21:57

My 8 year old finds them babyish and embarrassing. This has been the case for the past 6 months or so. He’ll capitulate if there’s a toy he really wants though, the despicable me promo got him recently.

theteddybear · 04/08/2024 22:06

My 7yr old daughter is starting to get to the point it's not enough. Sometimes I get an extra burger and she'll eat half of that too (if she's really hungry) although sometimes doesn't eat all the chips.

Danikm151 · 04/08/2024 22:08

Get the cheeseburger saver meal. Medium fries and only 20p more. They just miss out on the toy.

NowItsMeMyselfAndI · 04/08/2024 22:10

My dd was 10 or thereabouts. She eats like a sparrow though.

coffeeandteav · 04/08/2024 22:14

My 16 year old still loves a happy meal.

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/08/2024 22:34

Dts are 13 and often for a happy meal. They can eat for England with other things.

Invisimamma · 04/08/2024 22:42

Around age 8.

Sendhelp101 · 04/08/2024 22:49

They would be enough for my 6 year old ds but he doesn't like the hamburgers or nuggets so I have to buy him a mcchicken sandwhich as a separate meal x

Aproductofmyera80s · 04/08/2024 22:55

DS was 10 when he started having big meals, now he’s 16, 6ft 2 and eats more than me 😂
dd was 9 when she started big meals, they both have a fast metabolism thankfully… something I don’t have, although costs me a fortune feeding them 😂

TheFormidableMrsC · 04/08/2024 23:09

I'd say about 8. Now he's 13 with size 10 feet, no amount of food is enough.

WickieRoy · 04/08/2024 23:16

My 6yo loves a happy meal but I do think she'd eat more if it was put in front of her. She's not ready to give up the toy though. Grin (And I won't be suggesting swapping any time soon.)

thefamous5 · 05/08/2024 11:05

We started letting our kids have adult meals from age 10.

We generally only have them for lunch and they are big enough for a lunch. Might think differently if we had them as our main meal at dinner time

NowImNotDoingIt · 05/08/2024 11:39

Around 10. I mean, it wasn't a significant jump really... from 4 nuggets to 6.

Jifmicroliquid · 05/08/2024 11:41

I was 18 before I could eat a normal sized meal at McDonald’s. People found it weird but I just struggled with the portion sizes.

WombatChocolate · 05/08/2024 11:44

I sometimes have a Happy Meal as an adult now.

If in the middle, how about double cheeseburger?

Oganesson118 · 05/08/2024 11:53

My 7 year old doesn’t usually finish hers yet.

skippy67 · 05/08/2024 11:54

Primary school age I think.

honestanswers · 05/08/2024 12:00

My almost 3 year old runs out of nuggets too quickly and can easily eat about 6 but he rarely finishes the chips so I guess that makes a difference 🤷‍♀️

RuthW · 05/08/2024 12:03

About 8?
