What colour are your kitchen cabinets?

I'm fantasy planning my new kitchen (hopefully not fantasy for long if house purchase goes to plan) and I can't decide on the cabinets. I'm torn between white and traditional, using paint, tiles and small details to add interest, or throwing all the colour at the whole room.
If you have coloured cabinets do you still enjoy them after a bit of time or do you regret your choice?
What colour did you choose and would you recommend it?
I absolutely love this kitchen!

Cream shaker with a wedgewood blue island and black corian worktop. I love the colour combination in your picture.

I chose white purely because I thought it would appeal to more people if I put my house on the market. Whilst that kitchen in your photo looks lovely it's not to my taste and would put me off, painting walls is one thing but ripping out a kitchen is a huge job and expensive.

I didn’t get to choose my kitchen but it’s got light coloured wood doors with steel handles with dark grey/black bunkers and white tiles with white walls although I’m debating painting the walls soon.

it’s not the fancy kitchens you would find in magazines but it looks fine and actually I’ve seen way worse ones that people have paid a lot for!

My cabinets are olive green - I just wanted something different and they look lovely.

I am also fantasy planning! I love navy with wooden worktops.
I love the picture you’ve posted, but I’d change the top cabinets colour

FloofPaws · 04/08/2024 14:09

I did mine 5 years ago, I have navy blue Matt cupboards with white granite worktops and a dove grey island, with blue sparkly granite worktop and breakfast bar
I'm quite a plain decor kind of person so love it

Ginkypig · 04/08/2024 14:12

tried to add a picture but it won’t let me

Navy blue sounds lovely. I'm pretty crap at decision making at the best of times so I don't know how I'll ever decide!

Bright orange. Thought I'd be bored of it by now, but actually still like it. *in fairness my DH made it, so he said he'd just make another if I got bored.... it's his jobs so cost peanuts.

I love it, blue and orange is such a good combo.

Ivory with white marbley worktops and dark copper handles. I have a freestanding ( original) butchers block island with a solid wooden top. My walls are denim blue ( easy to change). I also have a solid pine original Victorian table and dresser.

OP, the kitchen in the picture looks good because of the high ceiling and light. In a more modest house, I think it could be more "in your face".

skippy67 · 04/08/2024 14:56

Colour matched to F&B Ammonite and Railings. Worktops are white quartz

grywknd · 04/08/2024 15:01

Ours are beige laminate 🤢, installed by previous owner, but we are going to change them for green painted wood when funds allow. Not sure whether it will be sage or pine green yet, we like both.

Bluevelvetsofa · 04/08/2024 15:02

Our top cupboards are dark blue. They’re ten years old now and I’d have something different next time.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/08/2024 15:13

I have dark blue cupboards in the bathroom and they show every little water splash. And a previous slate floor showed all the crumbs. One reason to avoid dark.colours, unless it's just me that makes a mess!

FrogFairy · 04/08/2024 15:41

When I get my new kitchen I will probably get mussel as a safe neutral colour. However, I have seen some stunning photos online of kitchens that are yellow, pink, purple etc.

namechange12524 · 04/08/2024 16:36

Ours came with the house. Navy lower cupboards and light grey high cupboards with marble worktops. I do really like it but I think it's quite trendy so it might look dated in a few years.

Silviasilvertoes · 04/08/2024 16:40

Ikea red. Loved them five years ago when we moved in. Tired of them now. Just about to start repainting them, but haven't quite decided what colour yet. Probably sage. Would love white but have two small DCs and three dogs, so that's wishful thinking. Have you found Knobbles and Bobbles for handles? That's mainly what my choices are based around Grin

I love the picture you shared!

Mine is petrol blue, been in 7 years - still very happy with it!
