Can anyone help me out here,

How long are your children on their phones?
can they go on for as long as they like? As often as they like? Or do you impose limits?

14 dc thinks no one else has limits on their phone and friends are able to use them all day and night if they want.

your thoughts would be great as it’s a constant flash point in our house.

I didn't police my DS's phone use at 14 and he turned out alright.

All teenagers try the "but muuuuum no one else has to do xyz" thing. Stand firm. Monitoring phones is good for their safety.

Ds aged 13. We don’t limit screen time or phone use except when it’s time to go to bed - he has to leave his gadgets downstairs to charge at 9.30 (10pm during holidays).

Ds doesn’t have time limits except for 9pm-7.30am it is ‘dumb’

however he’s only allowed WhatsApp and no other social media. He doesn’t really care he’s more into pc gaming whilst having groups of friends on FaceTime.

Mine has a limit. 8am till 8.30pm I think. We have just changed to a phone with just what's app as well so the limit may change as he gets used to using a phone as a phone. He does have Spotify though now so he's using it much more for contact with friends and music which is what we wanted. Phone is always downstairs at night though.
