Smyths Toys return without reciept?

(and before people ask they didn't answer the phone when I rang today!)

Have you made a return to Smyths Toys without a receipt? Got some duplicate gifts that I'd like to return but don't want to ask for receipts, if possible. Just want to exchange for something we will use. If not, I'll pop the duplicate toys into the charity shop

Last time I tried, I needed receipt banknstatement or date of purchase so they could look it up if it was cash.

You have to have proof of purchase for most stores even if on your bank statement. If you think about it, it makes sense otherwise people would (and probably do) steal stuff and then try to return it

Yes , receipt required. Otherwise proof of purchase or date of purchase cannot be verified
