Although the moderators called him by the honorific "President Trump" not that he deserves anything honourable , Harris never once referred to him as President Trump.

Initially she just referred to him repeatedly as Donald Trump but later in the debate, she refers to him simply as "the former president" - which will no doubt have riled him as he's so narcissistic

Overall it's a bit under 50% of those whom the pollsters have asked, which is not quite the same as the whole US electorate. For one thing only, they don't poll people who have not voted before this election, so they are missing all the youngest voters, and all the women who have only registered to vote because they are so angry about Roe being overturned...

I assume that’s one of the many reasons why US polling is so notoriously unreliable?

Incidentally I guess means they aren’t polling a large percentage of those who will be inspired to turn out by people like Taylor Swift.

One of the big issues with polls is that they only get people who answer their phones and are willing to answer questions. A bit of a self-selecting sample that rules out most people under 30 (40?) for sure

If you are interested in polling I really recommend listening to the TRIP Leading podcast interview with Frank Luntz. He’s very sycophantic about Tony Blair but that aside it’s a very interesting chat with a veteran pollster.

So on this morning's news there was a clip where when asked about a second debate Trump said (paraphrasing) " We won the debate and when you win big you don't need a second debate". Oh, and it was wrong of the moderators to 'fact check' in real time.

Yeah sure, O Deluded One. 'Won big', riiiiight. Let's see, I predict he'll agree to a second debate if it's on Fox, has live mics, and a studio audience he gets to hand pick.
