A big boasty boast.

Boast incoming.

My DD15 has ASC and suffered trauma from mainstream schooling which caused severe mental health issues. The MH issues have ruled her life for years, she has rarely left the house in this time and attends online school part time. She is isolated and broken. It has caused enormous conflict in our home due to the ongoing stress all round. No amount of support has got her over her anxiety of going outside of our home.

DD15 finally decided this week, for herself , that she was fed up of her MH dictating her life and she asked me to book her in to a gymnastics class (she’s a previous gymnast).

We have been here many times where she says she’ll join but then when the time comes , she can’t . Whilst I was outwardly enthusiastic, I assumed it would be more wasted money

However, today she has gone!!! I waited in the car and when she came out, I could tell that it has made a world of difference to her . She’s booked and paid for another lesson too!

I know this sounds so trivial, but this is a huge deal for our family and I am so unbelievably proud of her. There is nobody irl to tell , so I’m posting here. I had to hide my tears (of joy) that she has overcome such a huge huge barrier. Please join me in my utter joy!

Amazing news! It brought a tear to my eye.
I have an anxiety disorder so I understand how huge that breakthrough is for her.
You sound like a great mum.
