I want to get out of healthcare - all suggestions welcome

I work in primary care in a professional healthcare role and I want to get out of healthcare entirely, but am clueless about alternatives.

Yes I have already Googled and just cannot seem to break out of this pigeonhole as it’s all I know. Everyone I know well works in healthcare related roles too which doesn’t help.

I find having people in my face all day combined with the responsibility, work politics and lack of support extremely taxing. The demands are enormous and keep growing. I feel permanently harassed or in a state of huge anxiety where I am practically catatonic outside of work. I really love(d) helping people but it’s all too much. The money used to keep me going, but now I would rather take a big salary drop than continue working in this sector.

Has anyone here managed to get out of a healthcare job and find happiness in a different type of role? Would love to hear any stories or advice. Even better if the pay cut was not terrible/only temporary but really I just want less responsibility and fewer demands on my poor brain, body and emotions.

For reference I’m 36yo.

Thanks in advance.

I think you need to think about:
What other things interest you?
What transferrable skills do you have?
What is the lowest salary (temp or permanent) you would consider?
Are you happy to spend time/money retraining/getting further qualifications?

I know of ex-HCP's who are now a florist, an accountant, and one who works for a pharmaceutical company
