Hi mummies,

Can anyone please help me? If the school holidays starts mid week, like for example this 25th July, which was on a Thursday. Do we still get 15 hours for that week from the Monday to the Wednesday or not at all?

Thanks!

I believe it's 15 hours for 37 weeks of the year. But most nurseries are open 51 weeks and will expect you to commit to that so the 15 weeks is worked out pro rata, making it actually about 11 hours per week free.

The nursery will tell you the term dates. If the term really does run to the middle of the week, I’d assume it’s pro rata, though it’s possible the other days are counted as non-pupil days, so the term may actually end on the Friday, so it would be the full week. Only the nursery would be able to tell you how they do it though.

In my school-based setting, yes, you would be funded for the partial week (as long as it fell within the 38 funded weeks).
