I was kindly gifted a used upright corded Dyson last year. Unfortunately it's now died so I need to replace it. Having been through many used vacuums in recent years I've decided to buy new to be covered by a warranty.
One of the things I loved was that the neck/handle retracted meaning I could store it in a low cupboard I have. However nowhere can I see this is a "feature" and nor is it referenced in the dimension spec (ie two different sizes for when in use and when not).
Please could someone tell me if this is a standard feature for all upright vacuums nowadays? I don't really want to have to trek to the shops to check just this when everything else I need to know is available online.
Is the retractable neck a Dyson gimmick? I don't necessarily want a new Dyson as price is a factor. Corded and upright is a must. Shark have some good deals on but no mention of the neck/handle reducing down for storage benefits.
Any help greatly appreciated!
