iphone question

Probably a very stupid question but here goes. My very old iphone (6) is on its last legs and I really need to buy a new one. On the apple website I can get an iphone SE for £429 (can't afford the latest model) and was wondering if I can just put my sim from my old one in. I'm on EE and have a very cheap contract - less than £10 a month so I really want to continue with that and also keep my phone number.

You should be able to provided the SIM is the correct size. I've just had a quick look and it should just be a straight swap for you

You need the phone to be unlocked - if you are buying from apple it should be, some of the ones you get from the networks as part of deals aren't - but can be.

As pp said, you need to make sure the sim size is compatible as there is a new sim size, I think called micro. I suspect you could probably get a new SIM from your network but don't know if they would charge for that.
