Anyone been to Dusseldorf Weeze and successfully travelled to actual Dusseldorf?

I thought I was planning a fairly straightforward (and fairly cheap) trip to Germany with the kids, fly to Dusseldorf, trips on the train to Cologne and Bonn, but I have since realised that Ryanair take you to the back of beyond more than usual on this flight.
The flight would be landing at Weeze around 11pm which is after the trains have stopped running, so we would have to wait til the next day, and even then I can't find any clear information on definite times and price.
Has anyone made this trip, and is it achievable?

Just bumping ahead of a weekend of possibly going back to the drawing board 😘

We got the train, it was straightforward. All train times are on trainline and you can put the journey into google maps which gives you all the options. At the time of night though the best bet would be to get a taxi though.

Did it once - never again. Get a flight to DUS normal, there's very little in the price and would be cheaper once you factored in the additional travel and overnight accommodation.

Ah, thanks both. I thought I'd found the ideal three day break but I might have to think again 🙈

The other option is to fly with Eurowings to Cologne-Bonn airport. Very easy train transfer to the centre of Düsseldorf. I was just there a couple of weeks ago with my two aged 9 and 10. We flew with Ryanair to Weeze and returned with Eurowings from Koln-Bonn. Let me know if you want more info!

I've been looking at Eurowings @cockneylass as they fly direct from my nearest airport, but it's much more expensive than Ryanair. Why do Ryanair schedule a flight to arrive somewhere that you can't get a train or even a bus the the place you actually need to get to??! It's madness! I've been looking at all kinds of options and different combinations of flights. It all started out so simple but has quickly got out of hand 🙈

Frankly, I'd not fly in the first place and go by train through the tunnel.

Fly directly to cologne or Düsseldorf.
If you are traveling by train it may be worth getting the 50 euro ticket that allows you to travel on any transport, including regional trains, for a month.
Do not go to Weeze. It will steal days off your trip. It would be better to fly to Amsterdam or Frankfurt and take the train than to land there.

There are people who live near Weeze both in Holland and Germany! You can stay overnight quite cheaply at the airport or in Weeze. Then it's about an hour on the train to Düsseldorf.
