New neighbours today

Im getting new neighbours today. Ive never had new neighbours before! Is there any kind of etiquette? Chat on doorstep only or flowers to say welcome?

im in a terrance where you can hear everything. Im a family with ND kids so were loud but not annoying (hopefully)! Previous owners were a couple with baby. we could hear moans when having sex 🥴 it has been traumatic especially when kids are still awake and asking “mum whats that noise”! I feel like slipping that into conversation at some point just so they know how thin the walls are. Im pretty sure we werent in when they viewed the house!

i want to create a good friendly impression without being overbearing!

Grab one of them as they're moving in say hi introduce yourself, apologise but the walls are extremely thin and you know your household is noisy. With a nod say you can hear "everything" from both sides and caught all their "work calls" so it might be advisable to set anything noisy away from the party wall.

When we moved in our NDNs teenage daughters brought round a gorgeous note written by them explaining who they are and a bit about them, and homemade lemon cupcakes.

they ended up babysitting for us regularly (and still do) and we socialise with their parents on occasion.

it was a lovely gesture.
