Aberdeen Ballroom

Hello
Can anybody recomend a good family hotel nearby to the Aberdeen Ballroom?

Do you mean the Beach Ballroom?

Maybe? My inlaws met in a big ballroom in Aberdeen, we want to go there.

My husband just said he thinks so(beach ballroom).
Well, we have not checked if allowed, but they requested their ashes to be sprinkled there.

Dh and ds are flying over to do it.

There's a Premier Inn within walkable distance. West North stret aberdeen.

Yes that'll be the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom. It's right on the beach front.
There aren't any hotels at the beach these days.
As well as Premier Inn there's an Ibis next to the harbour (Aberdeen Centre Quayside), Douglas Hotel on Market Street. Residence Inn at Marischal Square and Sandman Hotel on St Andrews Street.
I've only stayed in the Sandman Hotel, would happily stay there again.

West north street is not a good area.

Thank-you, and good to know about bad areas. My dh & ds are travelling from Canada and not really familar with Scotland. They are going to MacDuff also.

West North Street is absolutely fine. It's right in the city centre and the premier Inn is cheap and cheerful. About a 20 min walk to the beach if that

Is the Hilton Doubletree still closed? It's literally a stone's throw from the BB but closed during Covid, not sure if it ever re-opened. There are also a number of B&Bs on King St.

I agree that the Premier Inn on W North Street is absolutely fine. It used to be the HQ of the Police Traffic division and the Police are currently based across the road at Marischal College. It's straight across from the Lemon Tree and Arts Centre, the 727 Airport Bus route is a short walk away on Broad Street/Gallowgate and it's very close to Morrisons Supermarket for supplies.

No it wasn't,and the premier inn west north street is a kick in the arse from a homeless person hostel.queen street was the old Grampian police hq.

No, it's been closed for years. There are those big barrier fences surrounding it. Not sure what it's going to be, if anything.

I would imagine outside. My fil only told us they wanted to be sprinkled where they met, which was at a dance there. They really enjoyed dancing, mil was in a highland dance club for years. We only lost fil this year, and just starting to plan what to so. He has 3 places to sprinkle ashes.

Thanks everybody. It sounds like there are a few. We are going to go to a travel agent on Monday we decided. The whole trip has so many choices, airlines and hotel airfare bundles and our heads are spinning with choices. Won't want a B&B, will want 2 bedrooms (dh snores) and hopefully a bathtub as ds has eds and will be in a lot of pain.

I've stayed in the Skene House apartments/hotel and was very happy with my stay.
