Why are dating apps so unbelievably shit?

No man can hold a conversation for longer than a day now days. I split with my ex around a year ago now but this new dating world is crazy. Men ask dir my number then text for about a day. Convo flows well then they vanish.

why are they like this

My only assumption would be attention span and a throw away concept
People are used to watching reels or TikTok videos, quick instant amusement and they move on to the next?
So if they're not completely enthralled by who they are talking too they'll move on?

I have no idea these are just guesses but I hate it too. It's making what is already difficult worse. Even getting a response in the first place sometimes is hard! We've matched for goodness sake, it infuriates me I mean seriously don't be on a dating app if you aren't going to date.

Keep them on the app, don't give your number out. It helps weed out players a bit faster if nothing else if they have to chat on the app you stay on the top in the app, with your number you drop as soon as the next new number is gained.

Plus just keeps you a little safer online.

Why do you want a pen pal? It should be exchange 3-4 messages then arrange to meet for a coffee. If you aren't sure then arrange a video call first.

All of that can be arranged through the app.

I think a lot of people on dating sites are talking with several people at once so you never get the full attention of anyone.

I gave up after realising I was expending more energy than I wished too in an attempt to keep conversations going.

Maybe stay on the app and arrange a meeting quickly? How are the conversations left?
