Last minute holiday ideas

It has just become possible for me to take 2 weeks annual leave from work, at short notice - starting this weekend. I need some ideas as hate the idea of staying at home (I work from home, am literally at home all day every day). Any ideas?

This would be for myself and 1 child, age 11.

We both have passports, and camping gear so this could be UK or overseas.

If overseas, could leave from London or most airports in middle of the country.

Budget is absolute maximum about £1300pp. Ideally less.

Not really into the all inclusive package style, or super busy hotels, but if something easy came up would still consider it. Ideally involves a beach, swimming pool.

In previous years we've done quite a bit of UK travel down south and across Wales, and probably looking to change things up a bit.

Grateful for any suggestions, TIA!

I'd start with an app like TUI or similar, put in your requirements and see what it spits out.

What type of holiday do you usually do or prefer...package or self catering. Do you usually book flights and accommodation separately.

For that budget I would look at sites like eurocamp and similar and see what last minute availability they have then try and match flights or ferry's/trains. Plan a day you can travel e.g Sunday or Monday to give you organisation plan. If I couldn't get exact dates I would also start by seeing what flights from London are available to places you fancy then hit Airbnb or booking.com and look.

Quite jealous 😊

A beach city like Valenecia where you can chill and sightsee so you don't get bored.

Or Malta as it's not as busy as the other Med islands but lots of things to do as well as having a beach.
