Bridgend near Porthcawl

Hi, I am visiting Bridgend in September. I was wondering what is the best beach around here? I don’t mind travelling for a bout an hour to get there? We will have a few child’s with us, so children friendly would be great.

Lots of beautiful bays in the Vale of Glamorgan. Southerndown has dinosaur footprints etc. Swansea and Gower is less than an hour away from Bridgend… some spectacular beaches there. Caswell, Langland close to Swansea…. Three cliffs, Rhossili, MewSlade, port Eynon, Owxich. Barry island and the surrounding beaches are lovely if you want a bit more life there than southern down
