Holiday destinations for 5 year old DS?

avarteayaya · 01/08/2024 12:23

I have a week off for February half term next year. I haven't been able to take DD away in a long time, so would like to take him somewhere abroad.

Nowhere is really warm enough for an all inclusive/swimming pool/water slides kind of holiday.

But I don't want him to be bored, if we did a city break like Budapest for example.

Does anyone have any good ideas please?

Fuerteventura Barcelo resort have lots of splash areas for kids. It’s usually warm enough (20-25 degrees but it can be cooler) 4 hrs on the plane.

What about somewhere with snow? Do some sledging instead of swimming?

Copenhagen. It's wonderful for children. Hire bikes (a cargo bike or a tagalong if he's not a confident cyclist).

Efteling

Canaries or Madeira would be warm enough.

Of the two I would go for Madeira.

Copenhagen was going to be my suggestion too, there's so much to do and an added bonus that it's also not too far from Billund which is perfect for any Lego mad child (and adult).

Eftling or Netherlands Centerparcs

Though NB I don't think Legoland is open in February..

Ah is it not? Apologies I thought it opened in winter on weekends?

Either way Copenhagen is still a pretty good shout for a destination.

Kinderhotels in Germany or Austria? Dutch Centerparcs?
