Olympics: no spoliers , what to watch?

I can only catch up a couple of hours in the evenings . Avoiding the news because I don’t want to know the outcome of events before I see them. Anyone watching along care to share what events I should watch tonight without giving anything away ? Anything exciting, nail biting, controversial etc as well as GB medals . Thank you!

Are you watching live streams or on catch up? And do you have discovery+

Elephantsarenottheonlyfruit · 01/08/2024 11:24

Iplayer @RafaistheKingofClay

What sports do you like? There's a lot of GB interest in the rowing this morning. But the highlight for me today will be the women's all round gymnastics final.

So far I’ve seen synchronised diving men and women; women’s triathlon, men’s breaststroke, women’s skateboarding and caught the end of women’s team floor gymnastics

BBC has an 80 minute long daily evening round up. That would be a good way of getting an overview of the most notable events each day.

That’s probably what I would go for. Either that or tonight’s swimming.

Got this guide off Twitter earlier in the week. Not sure how much is on iplayer.

Thanks for that @Bjorkdidit and for the link @RafaistheKingofClay
I’m less into the team sports like rugby/basketball etc Enjoy diving/swimming/rowing/athletics/gymnastics.
Some of the ‘must see’ episodes on iplayer are so condensed that it misses all the fun.

Is it worth having discovery plus? I can get it if so.

Over last couple of days I've enjoyed women's synchronised diving, gb v France men's hockey, men's triathlon and archery .

WickieRoy · 01/08/2024 19:11

The women's all round gymnastics final is being shown in full on BBC 1 and 2 ATM (flicking back and forth between the stations around the news) so I'm guessing it'll be available in full on iPlayer. I agree about the highlights programmes. My favourite thing about the Olympics is being sucked into a sport I know little about and that doesn't happen with highlights I find.

The canoeing was on earlier too, that's always fun.

The men's triathlon was fab.

I'm watching the women's surfing heats just now, it's not very exciting but I've never watched surfing before.

Andy Murray and Dan Evans are about to start their next tennis match 🤞

Well done for avoiding the news and spoilers!

Mens 4 x 200m freestyle relay.

Elephantsarenottheonlyfruit · 01/08/2024 21:02

Thanks for these tips! Caught the end of gymnastics all rounders tonight, amazing!
Watched a 5 min reel of the men’s triathlon (too short!) .
The women’s rowing from yesterday I think was an exciting watch.

I have the BMX racing on iPlayer now, tremendous fun and exactly the sort of thing I love about the Olympics.

The gymnastics was brilliant wasn't it.

SallyAsha · 01/08/2024 21:20

Table tennis! It's stressful though.
