For the units

We just had a kitchen fitted recently, we went for cream units (and cream tiles) and put the colour on the walls. Much easier to paint the walls than the units if we fancy changing the colour

Greytulips · 31/07/2024 22:53

I’m tempted by sage green!

Colinthecaterpillarstrikesagain · 31/07/2024 22:55

Dark green if it is a big kitchen with lots of natural light.

Cream if its a small kitchen.

About to go for matt dark blue.

upinaballoon · 31/07/2024 22:56

NOT grey or black.

Bankholidayhelp · 31/07/2024 22:57

Yellowy ochre colour

I am getting a new kitchen and going for a soft green..l think. I like olive too but don't know if l have the nerve as its quite dark. I also like mocha..can look lovely with white walls. No grey. No blue as my sister has it. Decision to be made in next few days.

Inlimboin50s · 31/07/2024 23:04

I had my kitchen installed last week and went for olive green. The worktop is called Aspen ice and I've got large ceramic tiles in a sort of beige/green grey with sort of white flecks. They're from Fired Earth and came out quite a it cheaper than some laminate I was looking at.

DoopSnoggySnogg · 31/07/2024 23:05

I’m dreaming of redoing our kitchen with matte navy doors and oak worktops.

AShortName · 31/07/2024 23:08

I love the sound of colours, but will go for white. Boring maybe, but can change the walls around it.

JC03745 · 31/07/2024 23:11

We just did a massive renovation and went for a cabinet colour between white and cream. Lighter than cream, but not as stark as white.
Walls, curtains and accessories are cheaper and easier to change and add colour than worktops and cabinets!
I too would avoid grey as someone else upthread said. The fad was already considered over when we started the renovation 3yrs ago.

SaintHonoria · 31/07/2024 23:11

Oak.

alwaysmovingforwards · 31/07/2024 23:11

White.
Not necessarily fashionable, but clean looking and timeless. I always go white every single time.

And then tiles, wall paint and accessories for colour themes.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 31/07/2024 23:13

I have a fairly new kitchen and I went for neutral cupboards so I could change the wall colour whenever I fancied.

Cas112 · 31/07/2024 23:13

Sage sage sage

Nsky62 · 31/07/2024 23:15

New kitchen a few yrs ago, duck egg blue, love it

RubyDarke · 31/07/2024 23:17

We renovated a few months ago and went for cream units, oak counters and a mixed not quite grey not exactly brown tile floor. After 25 years of orangey wood and dark vinyl flooring we are loving the light. Walls are a calico matt paint and the only colour is in the blinds. I love the neutral airy feel. The real revelation is having a massive floor to ceiling food cupboard : life changing!

Katypp · 31/07/2024 23:25

Don't get the grey hate on here - surely it's just another neutral colour? Last year's 'in' colour was navy, this year's is green. Surely they will date mire than a neutral like grey?

mondaytosunday · 31/07/2024 23:27

Did mine three years ago and wall units matte white base units matte black.
The one I did before was very dark matte navy. Composite marble effect worktops in white for both.

SaintHonoria · 31/07/2024 23:11

Oak.

Same here. I’m saving my colour for the walls.

BlastedPimples · 01/08/2024 00:14

I like utilitarian steel look.

Gooseysgirl · 01/08/2024 00:14

Just had mine done and was initially going for green but changed my mind and went neutral. Will be selling the house in the next 5-10 yrs, otherwise would have probably gone with the green. No regrets, it looks great 🥰

HeddaGarbled · 01/08/2024 00:15

White or off-white.

ShrubRose · 01/08/2024 01:09

Fun question.

F&B Wimborne White, I think.

Aquamarine1029 · 01/08/2024 01:15

I redid my kitchen recently and went for warm white cabinets and butcher block worktops. I love to accent with colour and artwork and I like to switch things up occasionally. I fear I would get very tired of coloured cabinets that would be a massive headache to change.
