For the units

I'd love colour on the units but had to go for white as it's a galley kitchen and doesn't get much sun.
If I had the right shaped kitchen I would go for a pale green or dark blue Matt with cream.

I’d go for inframe oak.

Are you vair vair rich?

No but I’ve had it before and loved it, with black worktops with a fleck in them. I priced it up recently as I was moving (fell through) and it added £3K to the cost of a £15K kitchen, that’s all.

I'd never go for grey, nothing to do with fashion. I like colour and I think grey would make me sad. I aspire to the country classic look so rich cream or sage green.

Grateeggspectations · 01/08/2024 16:29

White. It’s timeless

We just had a kitchen fitted recently, we went for cream units (and cream tiles) and put the colour on the walls. Much easier to paint the walls than the units if we fancy changing the colour

This is what we will be doing, though more of an off white than a full on cream, and having coloured tiles with white walls.

Though, I did love the yellow cabinets in the recent Flash cleaner ad. I don't think dh would go for them though.

RainbowSlidders · 01/08/2024 16:58

Ours was done in June matte dark blue and absolutely love it.

Isseywith3witchycats · 01/08/2024 17:19

this is what i went for called petrol blue gloss with large grey tiles and large plain grey floor tiles in porcelain

Neutrals. I watched worst house or whatever it’s called yesterday and the owner followed her dd’s (6?) idea of a ‘rainbow’ kitchen. Each cupboard door was a different colour. Even the developer said it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste so selling could be an issue, but I think the owner was going to make it her forever home. I did agree with my DH who said it looked like the Early Learning Centre.

BinkyBeaufort · 01/08/2024 19:44

I picked green because it's my favourite colour - I had a forest green with natural, pale wood worktops 35 years ago.
Since then I've had cherry wood with black tops and gloss alabaster with deep wine red worktops.
I'm not a big fan of neutrals, I find them dull and uninspiring.
If green is good enough to be Mother Nature's favourite colour how can it date?!

TimeForBedSaidZebadee · 01/08/2024 19:49

We went for sage. It's three years old now but I'm still happy with our choice.

Although it doesn't look sage at all in that photo😀

DilemmaDelilah · 01/08/2024 20:34

I chose a matt teal for the bottom and full height units (full height all on one wall) and a soft cream on all the top units. The walls match the top units exactly.

Pale blue. Like a vintage-style muted pale blue. (Not fuck egg)

This made me laugh! I thought you really hated duck egg..

LadyCurd · 01/08/2024 22:47

We just went dark navy on lower units and pale pink on floor to ceiling wall units and it looks fab

Evanna13 · 01/08/2024 23:13

Not black or dark green or navy, too dark and too trendy
Not white, too clinical.
Not yellow or orange, too bright
Not pink or pastel, too sickly
Not red, too vibrant/ stimulating

I like an off white, greige, warm beige or sage green kitchen. A light blue is lovely in a warm bright kitchen.

Evanna13 · 01/08/2024 23:20

Also like a modern wood kitchen with a light countertop.

Sinderalla · 01/08/2024 23:22

Cream, with a grey sparkle glitter granite work top

westcountrywoman · 02/08/2024 10:02

I love a tabby. Or a ginger.

Oops. Misread title 😂

LuckysDadsHat · 02/08/2024 10:25

I'm probably boring and it would be white or cream (I got a new white kitchen 2 years ago). It doesn't date as much as some colours and you don't replace kitchens often (15-20 years) so I want a classic look.

Normallynumb · 02/08/2024 13:42

I had mine done in March
I have Dove grey and linear oak worktops
Tiny area so I need as much light as possible

reluctantbrit · 02/08/2024 13:53

Ours is called White Ash. Tiny galley kitchen so we needed them fairly bright but I didn't want white.

We have shiny black marble countertops and a dark (black/blue) floor with white walls.

Plenty of colour with kettle, containers, biscuit tins.
