Neighbours

Very nice post but wonder if anyone has gone through the same thing...

We live in a semi detached house and our neighbours of 5 years have moved house. The new people have arrived today and so much noise has already started, along with cigarette butts being dropped on the front garden (we share this). Would anyone else be panicking? I do have noise anxiety and our old neighbours were brilliant, barely ever heard them through the adjoining wall, whereas we can already hear the children up and down the stairs along with lots of shouting 🙃 does anyone have any tips on how to cope with this? We've put a card through the door saying welcome to the neighborhood so hope to be on good terms with them 😊

Go over, say hello.

Mention that you know the adjoining wall is thin so they might hear you moving about, and if it gets too noisy on your side, they should feel free to let you know.

Hopefully they're smart enough to figure out it works the other way too

I wish you luck

Hey OP, any update on how your new neighbours have been? Hopefully they're all settled in now and noise has reduced. Moving day is hectic and busy but there's no excuse for the cigarette butts in the front garden x
