SIM card for France

Just wondering has anyone bought a SIM card to use data in France. I don't want to be hit with roaming charges. Ones I've seen seem
Very expensive though like one was 7 pound a day. Anyone done this recently?

Look at eSIMs, if you don’t need lots of data. Nomad has good deals and is v easy to activate.

What network are you on? Some roaming packages are included in your tariff, some cost £1/£2 a day.

Word of warning. If you go into monaco, it's about £3400 per day roaming charge!
I very stupidly forgot that monaco isn't actually in France, consequently, had to sell granny to pay unexpected costs!

Luckily I'm with O2...

Your minutes, texts, and data allowances will work in our Europe Zone, just like they do at home. Roam using your phone across 48 destinations and call and text back to the UK at no extra cost. Our Europe Zone includes all EU/EAA countries and the Channel Islands, Switzerland and Monaco.

Getting an O2 SIM through the post and porting the number across from EE took 2 days.

What network are you on? If o2 then roaming comes let of your usual data allowance, as well as minutes and texts, no extra charge. Same for the whole of Europe.

Lebara.

You can pay monthly. They have a decent data allowance and you can use it in any EU country I think.

It was sky! Hadn't realised the low daily roaming didn't include the Principality!

Some include some don't. Also see Andorra, San Marino... They aren't EU.

Serves me right for not reading the small-print. Altho it was very small and my eyes are knackered!

What about Gibraltar?

What about Gibraltar?

Its not EU but its a British overseas terrority. So check your small print. It may well be included, but it depends on who you are with.

RedToothBrush · 31/07/2024 11:53

(Gibraltar is covered by Lebara's standard roaming which you get including with a uk package)
