ECG - handhold

My DH mentioned this afternoon that he’s been having chest pains for a month (!). I made him make a GP appointment - they were fantastic and saw him this afternoon. They did an ECG at the surgery which came back abnormal and they’ve referred him to hospital this evening where he’s waiting for the results of blood tests. He’s only in his early 30s but his family cardiac history is appalling.

I’m 30 weeks pregnant and beside myself. Does anyone have any advice on how to stay calm and support him. Or reassuring stories of abnormal ECGs turning out to be nothing serious?

My dad has a 'bad heart', high BP and a family history of men dying in their 50s. The NHS sorted him out, he looks after himself now, and he's 80.

You can't change his experience right now but you can hope for the very best and breathe.

He’s definitely in the right place and he’ll be in safe hands. Even if he does turn out to have some kind of issue, there are so many things they can do to enable him to live a healthy, long life ❤️
He’ll be absolutely fine, please take care of yourself (and your baby). Hugs xx

It sounds as though you've done all the right things. If he's actually inside a hospital and having tests then that is top notch work.

His ECG might not be very abnormal. With a difficult family history like that, I think they would be super-careful.
