Why is my mother like this?

Am in a caravan with my mum and my DC.

Earlier this afternoon she nipped to on site shop. I mentioned that we need binbags as there was only one draped over the bin when we got here and no more anywhere in the caravan. She seemed put out by this insisting that they should be provided.

Busy afternoon, forgot about it. I just went to change the finally full bin and she tells me she didn't buy any. The reason? Because they should be provided. I asked how that helped right now with a full bin and no new bag. Cue a big huff and she has now stormed out to the shop.

A similar thing happened earlier this year when we went to supermarket where I live (different country) and I forgot to bring a bag for life so had to spend 20p on a plastic bag. She was SEETHING and didn't speak to me for an hour.

For context she is very well off and has no reason to behave like this (if an acceptable reason actually exists) .

😖

Maybe that’s why she’s well off. Look after the pennies…..

Some people are weird about weird things.

Im odd about people who cut bread instead of breaking it. It feels like a bereavement it makes me so mad and disappointed. I just look at them and think “You fucking plebs.”

In my defence I’m not well and need my HRT twiddling. I could cheerfully throttle anyone frankly. And a bin bag or lack thereof would make me upset.

@Twistybranch she's not tight in the big ways though.

She gifted me a deposit to buy my first home. Her and my dad always get the bill when they visit. This is why it baffles me so much. For her to be so disproportionately angered by totally minor irrelevant expenses.

@Ourdearoldqueen I genuinely don't know what you mean by cutting bread as opposed to breaking it?

And she's far beyond HRT stage. She's nearly 70.
