Calling cool kids - What bag for high school?

My niece is starting high school in September and very young for her age (as well as having an August birthday)
What bag are the cool kids carrying now that would be fairly inconspicuous but still appeal to a girly 11 year old?

My daughter is a bit older , she has the Fiorelli Austyn bag in black for school at the moment. It's quite spacious inside. Most of the girls have a similar style of bag.

My Y8 DD has a tote bag similar to the previous one suggested however she started with just a plain black rucksack. She could do with a new one really as it was only a cheap Amazon one. Might get the fiorelli for her.

Honestly I'd go plain and not too much money at the beginning- then upgrade later in year if wanted. The trends come around so fast and what's trendy in on part of the country isn't the same in others.

As pp have said year 7 is the year for a plain-ish branded bag and from there they upgrade. Nike is the safest of safe brands.

All the kids in our (mostly middle class school) have anonymous all black backpacks with no / tiny logos.

Plain black rucksack, dd has had a trespass one it's done four years service, but it's finally fallen apart. She really wanted an Eastpak, so I ordered one online, the quality is shockingly bad, I doubt it will last this next year. So personally I'd not bother with a 'named' brand, just a waste of money and adds to landfill!

Plain black Nike backpack.

School staff here, all the kids have black Nike backpacks. Cue numerous emails to staff asking kids to check their bags, as someone has picked up someone else's by accident

Go to sports direct they have a really good selection. Plain black.

My daughter has a pale green Nike bag. All her friends have Nike bags too, in various colours. My dd likes her one as it has two two big sections. She puts her folders in one and pe kit in the other. It is a bit of a tardis because it isn't huge but she can fit in her flute too. 😂

Nike backpack - there's one with a laptop sleeve inside, which was my stipulation if she wouldn't use a proper decent-quality outdoor-brand daypack. I am very uncool and all about practicality 😁 Tote bags are popular but all the weight is on one side & no protection for devices. I had a completely shit canvas satchel thing at 15 (on trend) but no expensive kit to carry around.

Typically Adidas or Nike back pack at my sons school..nothing flashy, no big brands. Alot of the girls have tote bags.

All girls school here, mix of plain black back packs and tote bags by year 8.
