Türkiye - pronunciation

Just watching the air pistol shooting finals.

Commentator is using the new/revived pronunciation of Türkiye and it occurred to me how rarely I hear anyone do this in everyday life (I had forgotten about the name change/revival).

Do you say/write Turkey or Türkiye?

I would say and write Turkey. Mostly because other than events like this I wouldn't remember it had changed.

They call Turkey by this new pronunciation now by the sounds of it.
The pistol shooting was good , well done to Serbia on their gold medal

I would say and write Turkey.
I know that isn’t how they say and write it but I wouldn’t say España or Deutschland either and I think it is the same thing.

This.

Forcing the French to say "United Kingdom" would be cruel.

This is right I think, it's not like Bombay becoming Mumbai.

The English word for Turkey is Turkey just like the English word for lots and lots of countries isn't the same as the countries own word for themselves.

This. If I was there though I'd make the effort to pronounce it correctly
