Mumsnet seems to have quite a large London population I thought it couldn’t hurt to spread the word. I can’t even imagine how scared a 6 year old would be out alone all night.

The girl was last seen on CCTV on Monday at about midday wearing light pink clothing.

Greenwich Police tweet

What did it say?

I suppose there'll be no details of its a no-surname case?

What are you talking about? I love Thamesmead. "Same old people"? That is my children and me you are talking about. Incidentally between the 3 of us we have 3 bachelors and 5 postgraduate degrees. All of us are professional. What is your definition of "rough"? I expect some of the detractors are "rougher" than us, based on the level of intelligence shown in some posts.

UPDATE: We are very pleased to report that six-year-old Eudine has been found safe and well. Thanks very much to everyone who shared the appeal.

In a couple of areas in Greenwich that I know, children play out from that age and it would not be a priority or even a concern for the police or social services who are dealing with far worse things.

I often tell dh to drive slower down one road locally as there are a family who are always playing out between the cars. He tuts in his British way about unsupervised children and I always tell him that's how children ought to be.

I hope she is ok and is found soon

Fair enough. Where I'm from children do spend a lot of time out, but here I guess I've grown accustomed to never seeing them alone outside.

I really hope she's found safe and well.

Smacks of some kind of domestic dispute but the important thing is that she is safe and well.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 30/07/2024 09:51

Oh the James Bulger case is still so upsetting. All those people who saw him being dragged through the streets by his killers. I know they weren’t to know, but I’m sure Thompson & Venables even told a couple of people that they’d found James in the shopping centre. I’d have taken him off them and taken him to the police myself.

You would do now, but at the time no one thought it possible for young children to do what they did to James Bulger.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 30/07/2024 09:52

So pleased she’s been found safe and well.

Yes it's fantastic but i suspect she's going to have a challenging couple of weeks now. I hope it all works out well for her.

She's been found, thank Christ

Oh thank god!

I hundred percent would have approached her, in a very gentle way. I got lost at age 5 many, many years ago but I still remember it clearly. I was very frightened but had the nous to approach two old ladies sitting together. They stayed with me and I still remember my frantic mum running towards me, I even remember what she was wearing even though it must have been circa 1966.

I approached (again extremely gently) a young crying lad in a shopping precinct who couldn’t find his mum, I stayed with him at the spot I found him, a while later his mother came and was very grateful.

Because of my experience I’ll never ignore an obviously alone or distressed young child.

This could easily stay with her forever, poor love.

DogsAndKidsAndSport · 30/07/2024 09:56

I am so relieved she’s been found. 🙏

The level of ignorance around no longer
astounds me.
Most people have no critical thinking and just run with whatever stereotype suits their narrow confines.

ToddlerMumma · 30/07/2024 09:56

I'm so glad she has been found. My daughter is 6 and I can't imagine not knowing where she was overnight.
