Other than toast, cornflakes/oats,porridge and eggs what kind of things do you have for breakfast?

I've become a very fussy eater since giving birth for some reason and really struggle with breakfast

Bagel with cream cheese.
Fresh tomatoes and Mushrooms thrown in air fryer with a poached egg.
Pecan plait.

What types of breakfast foods don't/do you like OP? Is it taste/texture or something else?
We don't have kids and have no set, breakfasty type foods. Every day is different, although generally spend more time cooking breakfast on weekends.

  • Leftovers from the night/day before
  • Crumpets/bagels/muffins with cheese/tomato or a brushetta type topping
  • A holiday in Crete showed me that various veg grilled, with feta or grated cheese is nice for breakfast. Courgettes, tomatoes, aubergine sliced thin, grilled, then cheese melted on the top. You can add a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and Italian type herbs or fresh too.
  • Fruit and yoghurt

I used to enjoy every type of cooked egg but for some reason feel sickly every time I have it now. Porridge and oats I'm just not a fan of texture. I can do toast with a numerous amount of toppings but I worry having bread every morning might prevent me from losing weight in the future

Plain cottage cheese is great with black coffee. You can also add a banana or other fruit to it if you want.
I also like croissant or a cheese toast very occasionally.

Greek yoghurt with fruit &honey

Shergill15 · 29/07/2024 23:17

Greek yoghurt with fruit, bagels/crumpets with whatever topping we fancy/have got in, smoothies, pastries/pain au chocolat type things at the weekend, beans on toast. Usually rushing to get me and DD out the door so tend to be quick things. But there's no reason why you have to have supposedly breakfast foods just because its the morning - @JC03745's suggestion of the grilled veg sounds lovely actually. And in some countries they eat cheeses/cold meats etc. Eat what you enjoy x

Cheese or ham with bread.
Fruit cake.
Crumpets in winter.
Smoked fish with bread.
Waffles.

Floralnomad · 29/07/2024 23:26

Yoghurt , croissant , pastries

Ishouldgodostuff · 29/07/2024 23:31

What about some Greek yogurt mixed with a scoop of protein powder then topped with either some chopped fruit or a small handful of cereal.
You can prep the yogurt the evening before to save time too.

I often just have Huel.
Chocolate flavour, blended with ice, coffee and milk.

Grapefruit. Can be grilled; honey/brown sugar and crème fraiche work well.
Fruit toast, tea cake or cinnamon and raisin bagel with cream cheese
Pancakes with bacon and maple syrup or berries(we buy frozen)
Frozen croissant, cinnamon roll, or pain au raisin done in the air fryer
Cheese and tomato toastie with basil and oregano
Waffle with nectarine and strawberries
Cheese scone, warmed and buttered.
You can get knock off sausage patties at most supermarkets and replicate a McMuffin at home ☺️

I love French toast (less obvious egg if you could handle it)

I have rediscovered Alpen recently!

As others have said - bagel and cream cheese v popular, sometimes with smoked Salmon if feeling decedent.

Not to forgot on of my all time favourites, weetabix with butter on

CherriesBerriesAndBananas · 30/07/2024 00:12

There’s no rule that says you HAVE to have breakfast foods at breakfast time. You could just have something that you enjoy.

TizerorFizz · 30/07/2024 00:15

Granola, yoghurt, honey and fruit. Croissants and coffee. Perfect.
