Uses for mascarpone? Ideas needed please

I have half a tub of mascarpone left over from a pasta recipe.
What can I do with it, that is not pasta or tiramisu (don't have any of the other bits for tiramisu)
Hopefully quick and easy ideas
Thanks in advance.

You can use it to make lovely frosting for cakes.

It’s an excellent substitute for clotted cream on scones

You can just eat it with jam. Bonne Maman cherries and berries, preferably.
And yes it works on scones but equally you can just cut to the chase, ditch the scone and go straight in for the mascarpone and jam. Well, I can anyway! 😋

I mix it with Philadelphia cheese, sugar or sweetener and cocoa powder, ( vanilla essence if you have it ) then have it as a dessert with berries. Yum!

Cheese straws!!
what mummy makes has a fantastic recipe (even if it’s for weaning)

Sheet of pastry- spread mascarpone over it and top with grated cheese- fold horizontally and cut into 10 and twist as many times as you can and the brush with egg and pop in the oven for 20/25 mins!!

Absolutely delicious!!

Ooh, I'm thinking on pancakes? With jam or what?

Slap on blobs on a pizza, absolutely delicious. Alternatively, brioche with apricot jam and mascarpone on top. Omg!

Loafbeginsat60 · 29/07/2024 19:25

I put it in tomato soup or tomato pasta sauce

Normallynumb · 29/07/2024 19:27

Mix together with full fat Philadelphia and icing sugar as topping for cheesecake

Eat with strawberries or raspberries, stir in a little caster or icing sugar if you've got a sweet tooth.

Slice croissants length ways, spread with mascarpone, then fill with Parma ham for a tasty breakfast, or fill with sliced fruit for a quick pudding.

Take two slices of brioche, spread one with mascarpone and the other with chocolate spread, put them together and eat!

Domoda · 29/07/2024 19:46

Ooh yeah on pizza! Like a blond pizza? Sounds lush. I'm thinking with mushroom and ham

Agreed. Also good with strawberries.

burblish · 29/07/2024 23:16

For the most divine lemon cheesecake, mix the mascarpone with lemon curd and lemon juice, fold through double cream whipped with icing sugar, spread over a base of crushed ginger biscuits and butter. Simultaneously light and yet rich. Top with candied lemon peel if you can be arsed to make some (it's very easy!).

Supermacs · 29/07/2024 23:19

Mix with icing sugar and eat like a dessert (secretly so you dont have to share)
