Office chair - where to buy?

DH currently has nice cream leather desk chair as an office chair but the leather is all split and horrible looking.

This is upsetting me a lot more than him but he agrees he needs a new chair.

Being DH he doesn't just want me to order one on line but wants to be actually able to sit in it before saying yes.

Does anyone know of any office showrooms vaguely in the East of England?

Ikea any Good.

Obvious but we hadn't thought of that!

This is bothering me a lot more than DH who would sit on the same chair until it collapsed hence me having to sort it out.

If you have a John Lewis they often have a large range from Herman Miller (great for backs) to much cheaper ones. Of course your husband needs to sit in it to test it out.

Yes but he doesn't just want to sit in it, he wants to make a spreadsheet about each chair's pros and cons, right down to whether it would survive an earthquake.

I tried buying exactly the same chair as we had already but unfortunately they sent one with a wheel falling off, returned it but trying again has been rejected as 'they are now poor quality'

Usually I just send him to shop on his own so he can work his own way through his trauma that the perfect pair of socks doesn't exist, or does exist but costs more than £1.99 but it's me that can no longer stand the sight of the chair.
