I bought a cute set with a soft toy suitable from birth and a lovely cotton blanket recently (friend of DDs, I am way too old to know people having baby showers but like DD’s friend so sent a gift 😁).

If you’re really stuck ask mum to be or whoever is organising the shower for her if there is anything she needs?

The friends that organised mine for me co ordinated between themselves and a few of the other guest so one got me bottles and feeding stuff, another got me a changing bag and filled it, another got me a baby bath with toys, towels and toiletries and so on

I also got quite a few gifts that were a mix of little useful bits and bits for me to treat myself which were brilliant and I think that’s going to be my go to gift in future

I got Loads of blankets, comforters and outfits (mostly in bigger sizes) which are lovely but I’ve now got more blankets and size 0-3 outfits than I think I’ll ever be able to use BlushGrin

For any baby gift, I always go to the Tillyanna website and buy one of these with XXX Family Adventures as the personalisation. They've always been really well received and I've seen them used loads.
I don't work for them but the way 🤣 I bought my mum one during Covid and got a free one myself and I love it- it's lasted so well and gets used all the time! It would have been really handy when mine were little.

Lots of nappies!
A parenting book you've personally found useful
Nice products for mum eg. Neals yard shower gel (could ask what she likes)

But yes, do ask what's needed.

I'd usually make a small hamper. Why not make one with some unisex baby vests, some nappies, wipes, maybe a cuddly toy or book aswell. Why not add a couple of things in there for mum too.

Buy a voucher for cook food. We went through my freezer stash surprisingly quickly and it was nice to choose some tasty ready meals to enjoy.

Your favourite childhood story book. Write a personal message inside

My last baby shower I bought some nice toiletries for the mother to be, a book I loved as a child and a baby toy.

I don't like buying for a baby who hasn't been born yet, so I usually buy a few bits for the mum (nice non-alcoholic drink, chocolates, hand cream, fluffy socks, coffee cup, that sort of impersonal gifty stuff unless I can think of anything better) and then buy the baby an outfit when they've safely arrived.

I’ve only ever been to one which was my best friends and I bought her the steriliser she wanted- it was both something wanted and needed.
